low pressures is how you prevent tyre damage in the bush.
the manufactures recommended pressure for on road in a sierra is 20 to 22psi

on my placard it said 28 psi was recomended so i dunno then shep .. .. but i never had aproblem running 20 psi in the bush but owell each to his own .. stil gotta be a shit oad softer then 30 psi

went wheeling again today, tyres at 23psi made an amazing difference in the ride, seriously didnt know how rough it was at 32..

I have a long wheel base vit. Slightly bigger tyres than you.
Used to run about 30psi onroad and the ride was horrendous.
Recently started using 26 front 24 rear and its so much better and still only using the same fuel.

If your driving on fast gravel road, try 18-20psi. Really helps to hold those corners when its rough and loose.

For more off road stuff and if you have a nearby source of air, I used 15psi last weekend and it was great, but I think I might try lower next time. Once you get into the low numbers though It really becomes a try it yourself and see sort of thing. You might find you never need to go below 16psi or you might find your tyres only bag nicely once you get to 12psi.

After reading this thread I went and checked mine before we went up the highway to my mates to go up some tracks.

Got round to the servo thinking I might have 20psi or so, it was one of those set and forget machines that do it all for you, I set it to 23, put it on the valve and it pops up with 13...
So I set it for 23 (half way between 20 and 26) and headed off, thought I could notice it a little bit harder ride but who knows.

When we got to the track I let them down to 13 again and it went aces, I DEFINATELY want/need some lower ratios for my tcase though, it wasn't super hectic but I stuck to low 1 and 2 (and a quick spurt of 3 to see the difference on the flats) but could have been happier with some far lower gears...

So yeh, I'm gonna go with 23 for the road and see how that works.
Even though they are 29's it doesn't seem like much air to change the 10psi

will start to try some lower pressures when i do some more serious terrain, where i might acctually need it
atm just playing around in mud with the recent rain, havent let my tires down cause the lack of traction is kinda fun

I was in the same boat, had been running 32psi.

After reading this thread I dropped them down to 25psi and its a much smoother ride. Lesson learned.
