does any one here run after market gauges that dont fog up or is this to much rice for a zook

I run speco gauges and mine are always fogged up, this is in a soft top zook

I've had vdo but there a no go, so im guessing oil filled would be the way to go

I Run VDO Oil Pressure & VDO Voltmeter, they work fine, and don't fog up...

the liquid filled ones are to stop the needle fluctuating rapidly making them easier to read and giving you a more accurate reading.

I've never had or seen Autometer guages fog up, I have had one of their liquid filled guages that the liquid leaked out of it though

I've got Equus oil pressure & voltmeter, mounted side by side in the bottom DIN slot - one fogs, the other doesn't, and for the life of me I can't figure out why - they're both exposed to the same temperature/humidity changes etcetera.

On a side note: usually, fogging in a closed space (be it a head lamp, a tail light or some other enclosure) means there's humidity trapped inside. On head lamps for example, you have a little rubber tube which allows humidity to escape and the inside gets dry. Maybe it's worth checking if you have the same for the indicators, and one of them has the air vent obstructed.

I used to think so myself - but - both gauges are open to the atmosphere on the back - there's no seal or anything - the lamp is in a plastic holder that snaps into a hole, and I would have thought that the warmth from the lamp would bake that moisture out.

my specos fog up 2, but only 2 of them, i thought it must have been from me hoseing them!

Autometer liquid filled gauges are crap... The numbers all fall off the face.

If you want GOOD quality gauges buy PRICOL in plain or liquid filled.
