G'day everyone. Just want to hear from any other GV 2.4 owners. Mine has had a diff or g/box whine (at 90 - 100kmh) since new. I was told thats normal.Anyone else got a whine??

2 Recently I get a clunk when taking off. You take off and let the clutch out ...the car starts moving then there is a clunk. Feels like the gearbox or TC catching up. I believe these have a chain driven TC ...could this be the cause ?? I have had it since new and it now has 8000km and is probably one of the most fun cars I have owned to drive since I had my brand new LJ50 when they first came out.

We have the same car but a 2008. no driveline noise but the Iron man suspension makes a racket over sharp bumps.

I have jsut changed job's, but my last job was working in a dealership on Suzuki's, I have had a couple with said clunk, I wanted to pull the g/box out but was told not to as the engineer's were looking into it..
One case I heard of, that replaced transfer with new & no diffrent, replaced G/box with new, noise gone, came back 2000km later.

I believe it's in the g/box, but they weren't going to pay for me to find it, so I didn't .
Take it to your dealer with the complaint of the clunk & the wine, the sooner they know of the clunk the sooner something will happen about it..

I've the 2.4 auto wagon and have not experience such problem. As suggested by Steaky, take it to the dealer asap and have them check it out before the warranty runs out.

I never had such a noise in the auto's, I think they have a duel mass flying wheel, so it's possible to be that, but don't think so..
That was just something one of the nissan boy's suggested..

Never been a fan of turbos (Pardon the pun). The only turbo that really impressed me was RX4 mazda that had a PP 13B in it. Holy Crap did that thing boogie !

And yes I bought an LJ50 brand new in 1976 and had it for 2 years. It was frigging brilliant to drive on and off road.

Ive since had another LJ50 , and LJ50V , 2 LJ80's and a Sierra back in 2005. Looked at the Jimny but went for the Vitara.

Cheers for the reply's. Its going in after new years I hope.
