I appear to have warped my front right brake rotor on my pro truck challenge trip. There is a constant ticking coming from the front right and there is pulsing and lurching during slow speed braking.
Anyone know somewhere in Brisbane to get some reasonably priced rotors and what they are worth?

Thanks Royce. With the wheel off and turning the rotor by hand its definately only coming into contact on one point of the rotation, could this still be because of a seized slide? How do I check? Sorry, brakes aren't exactly my forte.

to check the slide unbolt the caliper at the 2 big bolts and lift it up and see if the caliper moves in and out on the slides (they have the rubber boots over them) freely

If you need a rotor or 2 I have a couple you can try. If you want new ones I got my RDA's from BHSS at Bowen Hills. I should have some calipers kicking around too, if you have a totally rooted one.

Hey Damo
Was just saying to the misses (yeah i work with her, its painful hehe) that we should try to drop in on you on the weekend. Thanks for the offer for the rotors. If it is the rotor, it's probably about time I swapped them and the pads out anyway. If its the caliper I might take you up on that offer.
Are you going to be around Saturday arvo or Sunday?

Satdy will be flat stick, so Sunday's prolly best. I'm guessing arvo, as Sat night will probably involve much beer

if ya goin to the trouble of swapping the disc and calipers then upgrade the lot to LWB vit brakes. its all bolt on stuff. all ya need to do is trim the rear stone guards and it all just bolts up.
Bleeding is a 2 person job as you need to hold caliper and disc off the axle to get bleeder in the highest point. not that hard but worth the effort
B4T
oh LWB vits have bigger pads and vented discs.

measure the thickness. you can get them machined if they are not too worn. doesn't cost too mch.

Thanks B4T. You almost convinced me for a second there but at the moment it's unecessary. If I were replacing the caliper too then I would but I'm just going to do the rotors and pads. I'm actually really happy with the brakes on my sierra (pre the current damager that is) I'm amazed at how hard they pull up.
