Need to get some oils for my 1.6 baleno motor and my 5spd sierra box.
Whats the best stuff to use and what viscosity do I need?

ive used the nulon brand and the castrol brand. castrol is nearly double the price, but sooo much smoother and a fair bit quieter...

htey are both good brands, infact for some thing like suzuki sierra engine you would had pressed to find an oil these days that wouldn't be up to it quality wise, just use the correct viscosity and change it regularly

...i never said anything about the engine oil. i dont notice a difference brand-wise for that. but my PERSONAL opinion is that MY car runs smoother. YOU might think its bullshit, but for ME, in MY gearbox, it shifts much smoother...

best manual trans fluid ive ever used is castrol vmx 80, engine oil, i use penrite hpr 15, hpr10 if its a rebuilt motor.

Does anyone use Magnatec Diesel 15W-40? Saw it today for the first time, thinking about giving it a try on my next oil change.

Was looking to try a full synthetic, but the viscosity ranges seem less than ideal if 15w-40 is what to aim for - dunno if a motor with 230K will feel the benefit of a synthetic either.

As long as it's not low ash it will be more than fine..

Why can't I find a 15W-40 fully synthetic oil? There's the a few blends but if you read the fine detail for most it's only the additives that are synthetic.

Been using Nulon 20W-50 high km oil, but want to try a 15W-40 instead and see what difference it makes to my oil consumption... no full synthetics though in this viscosity, just mineral oils.
