mark all req. vacume lines, remover exh. manifold, remove intake man.dump water/coolant from entire engine, might have to remove radiator to get to screws on timing cover, remove them, take off rocker cover, mark pullys/belt/crank/cam location(or zip tie everything in place) remove headbolts, head MAY require a love tap to 'break the seal' and SHOULD come off relatively easy.. pretty much it.. someone will chip in if i forgot anything im sure...

suggestion: Get a cardboard box and mark one end as FRONT, when removing bolts from head etc puncture cardboard with a screwdirver and insert bolts into cardboard as they are removed. . front left, rear right yada yada yada.

JUST RIP THE HEAD OFF. GET IT CRACK TESTED. THEY BLOCK ALL THE HOLES AND PUMP WARM OIL IN. IT SEEPS THRU CRACKS. GIVE IT A HAIRCUT AND BACK IN. DON'T LET EM TRY TO SELL YOU NEW VALVE GUIDES. 500 BUCKS LATER.
