was doing some wheeling on the beach today and i hit a hole. It was fine til i got to the road.

Then when i was driving home my wheels were dead straight but my steering wheel was out by 20deg.

Any ideas?

Have you looked under the front end? Check your steering linkages. Check the radius arms mounts for cracks.

Had bit of a look. It's almost dark now.

I only hit the hole with the left front wheel.

i did the same thing, but mine was a rock not a hole and mine is on a / angle.

i think mine jumped off the splined shaft, wheel turned, then went back on. ill keep an eye on this thread as it could be the same issue.

it's a load of shit. SOME pedders stores do it, but theres certainly other mechanics that do similar as well. I took my car to pedders, had the swivel housing rebuilt for $300 less than everywhere else in town (yes, it was actually leaking, very bad). also had front springs done there (yes, the old ones were bent), wheel bearings done perfectly and the bloke showed me what was left of the old ones (yes they were fucked too) and while doing the wheel alignment (which was also way off but now fine) they found a very minor leak in the swivel housing again that they repaired under warranty for me, no hesitation, no questions, and didnt even ask beforehand. and for ALL issues, BEFORE fixing them, they've brought me straight out while the cars on the hoist and shown me issues which certainly ARE there.

to say EVERY pedders store does the same is just stupid. they didnt test every pedders store in australia obviously... i'd be stupid to say they're all great, its been proven that some do rip ya off. but i stand by our local pedders...

They wont do it to everyone but they will do it

Bullshit.

As with all mechanics there are good ones and bad ones. The Suzuki 4x4 club of WA had a good relationship with Pedder's Wangara for a while, they looked after us.

You ought to be careful what you right on a public forum mate, do you know what Libel is? Try googling it...

something is bent or loose, can be so many things, it may be hole just found problem, rather than caused it.....in daylight after sleep, should be easier to see problem

so, chop, are you saying you know people that have had problems at EVERY pedders store around australia? do you have proof that EVERY store does it? because by your logic, all mechanics make up problems because "thats how they get their business".
