Where is the Fuel Filter located on a LWB 93 Vitara.. Is it near the Tank?
If So, How do I go About Changing it??
I do realise that the System is Pressurised so I should remove the Petrol cap lid to release the pressure in the tank??

should be in front of the tank
spanner on filter, spanner in union and undo them
no the pressure is after the tank, you need to run the engine with the fuel pump off, seeing there isnt a real easy way to do that in a vit just undo it and hope you dont get too much fuel in your eyes

your mechanic put his kids through school on your wheel bearings didnt he? ask if you can borrow his hoist, much easier to get out of the way when the fuel spits then

I went back and asked for a fuel filter .......ummmm we dont have any was the reply......they didnt even have air to blow it out to get me going ....
i bet they didnt even have points there either
this has been my local for 15 years and now ....out of town ...new owners..phhht wont be going back ever!!!! they had filters
I could see them and they wouldnt sell them to me after selling me dodgy fuel!!!!!!!

grave dig, just trying to change the filter. which bit do i undo? on the hose side there is a filter nut then the crown thing, hose connection then a nut. but on the other side there is a smaller nut or bolt (cant tell)
does it matter which side you do first(the in or the out side)?
thanks

Undo the little nut first, It releases the pressure then undo the two big ones either end, unbolt it from the cradle and viola.
One tip I can give is wear safety glasses and undo the nuts slowly, petrol in the eyes isn't fun.

I'm quite sure they're normal thread. I had a spanner either end and pursuaded it loose.

both big nuts on the filter, It will help stopping the filter spin in the cradle. try taking off the left one first

I always do mine with is siting on its wheels, just get under there with a big spanner for the filter size and a small spanner for the banjo bolt, stick em on so squeezing them together undoes the bolt and you are away, seriously they cant be tight cause the threads are so fine they will blow out if they were

well it sounds easy, i even sprayed wd40 on them, wouldnt budge. prob didnt help that i was using a spanner that was slightly to big. oh well, whats done is done, what isnt isnt!

You should be able to just slide under there, unless it's been lowred, even easier if you had ramps or just flex it up on a gutter.
It would take 10 mins to complete the job with an impact gun. The battery powered ones come in handy for undoing wheel nuts too and they're not too expensive these days.

impact gun=rattle run? yeah they would be good but i dont have one, it will be one of the things i purchase with my government apprenticeship $$$
but for now its just spanners, might try using a socket and even crank out the breaker bar
