hmmm
i was watching one of my 4wd dvds and i notice one hilux running no rear shocks

..

what kind of dammage would this do?, if any..

is there any advantages?

how would the ride be??

it would only be any help if your shocks were to short.

the car would drive crap and rock on every bump. at speed it would lift wheels of the ground from bumps and just be a danger to you and every one else.

Yeah I was out one trip and broke a bottom shock mount bolt snapped the thread so had to remove a shock, anyway instead of going home I kept going up another trail with the guys and ended up braking the other side and driving home with no rear shocks, was a little bouncy over bumps and what not but on big bends it started hopping dangerously so I had to keep it to about 60km the rest of the way home.

You would lose the spring altogether if you lifted a wheel with no shock on. The shock is what keeps the spring captive on coil suspension.
