hey guys now this may be the stupidest Q of all time but ..when it comes to cleaning have no idea . my idea of a clean zook is well spray car will high pressure wash ...i was wondering what do some of u guys use to wash ur zook ..and will kinda keep dust off thanks

Just a waterblaster and ramps then wash'nwax for mine works. You probably won't find anything that keeps dust off

i just take the roof off then spray CT18 over everything, inside and out, then leave it in the rain.
hay presto, shiny clean car.

I drive mine on the beach to clean of excess mud. Works especially well on tyres.
Drive it through fresh water creeks to clean of excess sand.
Park it outdoors in the rain to clean the roof.

Works good enough for my needs.

How to clean a car: The basics...

Step 1) Get a bucket
Step 2) get a sponge
step 3) get car wash
Step 4) pour small amount of car wash into bucket
Step 5) fill bucket with water
Step 6) spray water all over car
Step 7) proceed to dip sponge into soapy bucket of water, remove it and make contact with car, this step is very important because it will need to be repeted several times.
Step 7) move in a circular motion from the top down
Step 8 ) once car had been washed, rinse well by spraying water all over car
Step 9) For best results, Use a chamois to remove any water marks
Step 10) enjoy

The best way to keep dust and dirt off is to not drive it, leave in the garaged with a car cover over it.

you get can stuff known as "waterless wash" that will keep the dust off. i and S13RR4 have used it on a variety of cars and it works a treat. you have to wash your car prior then spray and wipe this stuff on and it keeps a film on the paint which reduces stuff sticking to it. if you throw like a towel or something on it, it'll slide straight off.

truckwash and a spray bottle

spray truckwash all over car

Leave for 24 hours then just hose car off with good pressure. Will clean everything PERFECTLY

TW20 works well also. Spray on leave for 30 min or sooooooooooooo and wash off

after 4wding i spray the whole car with the hose then use a hand broom to get all the mud/dust off, then hose it down to rinse off.

doesnt make it super clean, but does a good enough job.

if you really want it to look good, give it a polish afterwards!

Soap isnt neccessary to clean a car.

if you dont want swirl marks in the paint rinse very well with a high presure hose. Then use a lambs wool or 'noodle' washing mit, sponges collect sand and dirt after use and cause fine scratching in the paint. At the end of the day it's a 4wd so i't's up to you. If it was a new vitara or something i would be taking care of it.

I wash mine with a good quality car wash, using dish washing detergent is a big No, as it causes corrosion...
Dont forget to wash under the car, especially if you go 4wheelin on sand, lots of salt, and in mud, mud holds moisture, which equels rust... but even after being on dusty tracks, always a good idea to wash underneath as well...

This is what I do;

1) Pressure hose underneath to get rid of mud/salt water immediatly after use.

2) Once home, pressure hose more thorughly underneath.

3) Spray Truck Wash (CT18 etc) underneath, leave 5 mins, pressure hose off (sometimes I skip the pressure hose...don't really need it, just use the normal hose)

4) Open bonnet, cover eletrics/air box with al-foil (takes 2 mins to do the major bits). Spray with water (not pressure hose). Spray with truck wash. Wait 5 and rinse, remove foil.


5) Wash car as normal (sponge-soap suds-water) - always do this last, as you will get over spray from underneath.


General tips;
- don't wash it in the sun. bad for paint
- don't was it when it's hot
- don't use truck wash on paint unless you thoroughly rinse it.
- Only do small areas (1-2 panels at a time - especially if using truck wash)
- Chammis dry if you don't want spots left.


Wax/Polish tips
- Check out meguiars for good but budget polish/wax
- Wash with truck wash doing only 1 panel at a time and rinse thoroughly
- Chammis dry
- panels MUST be cool, only do it in the shade.
- Polish/Wax


The truck wash is really good at getting rid of the extra grime, but it is not good for your paint. They use truck wash at the servo type cleaners, which is also very bad for your paint. Unfortunately my roof is stuffed from using them, one day I didn't wash my car after I pressure washed it at one of those places, the following day my roof paint was stuffed. I did rinse it at the place, but it must have had some traces left in it.
