I think I might buy one. They look pretty good and will help with departure angles more than the plastic stock one.

The only thing that confuses me is the swing away tyre holder? Why bother with that given it's only a single door?

But what would you do about the tail pipe and muffler because they are hidden by the factory bumber and that bar is a bit higher, might look a bit odd.

the only thing I would like to know is how the rear wheel carrier locks into the bar?? it doesnt show

Jap jimnys have the same issue, and it doesnt look bad

it wont affect your performance so pffff... and other bars youll have same problem.... and your departure angle is waaay big enough s you wont hit it....think youll hit something first before that.... and if u do youll have the excuse to change it then

Yeah I have some chicken scratchings here of a design thats actually not too different to the above mentioned bar.

Infact I reckon if you beefed up the bar mounts on this bar ( way too light duty to use for recovery and towing!!!) this bar would be perfect. I'd probably make a few small changes to the swingaway design too.

For a suzuki? Maybe some loaded GV drivers, But I can't see too many Jimny owners spending 20% of what they paid for their entire car on a new rear bar!!

But you aren't comparing apple with apples now are you.

ARB's bar is a very complicated design. There would be dozens of components, and a labour intensive build process. ( probably use robots for most of it.... )

I still don't think that $4K is any where near justifiable, but I am confident that even if YOU had the skill to make a similar bar, it would cost you considerably more than $500 to do so

Yeh i know there is a lot of work in the ARB rear bar but i don't really won't anything like that bar i just want something that is plan and simple, hence the reason i'm going to make my own, so i can get exactly what i won't.

EDIT: unless they have factory bars, which are just as expensive...

Just noticed something else on the jimny with the ARB rear bar, if you were to have something like that with the spare wheel of to one side it would look strange because the rear tail gate it not flat, it has the indentations were the spare wheel mouts to now.
