I loved my km2's on pretty much any surface, but they have worn out quicker than any other tyre I've ever had.

I'm down to the wear bar on all 4 corners after less than 30,000km. That is with running correct pressures for different conditions and rotating every 10,000km.

I did notice when I bought them that the compound was very soft, but I thought they would have been good for more than that.

I do remember reading somewhere that due to the demand on km2's initially, they imported a heap of northern hemisphere compound tyres, which are supposed to be softer compound due to cold conditions and snow driving. Has anyone else heard this?

My 35's off the rim new feel soft. Direct from usa.

the new wranglers are meant to wear fast as well, thought it would be less on a zook, so many complain, but they are driving trucks like rams and f100's etc.

I wouldn't call 25,000km huge, most people do more than that in a year, and most people don't buy new tyres every year. I'm going to try and contact bfg and see what they say, just need to find some contact details tho coz their website is down

Most people probably don't do more than 25000km in a Sierra though... I'm lucky to do 5000 a year in mine...

Sorry, probably should have been more specific, those tyres are on my d40 navara which is the daily. But, it hasn't done any hard core touring or carry heavy loads, so I still maintain that 25,000km is unacceptably low tyre life

I've done about 15,000 kms on my KM2s and they still have shit loads of tread left

Cheers Joe, I love the tyres, so if the wrong compound was the only issue I'll probably buy another set, otherwise I'll probably go back to stt's, coz the stt's on the other car are still going strong after more than 50,000km

When I was looking at tyres I was informed by the tyre retailer/fitter that people where getting 100,00kms out of their tyres but since they have been manufactured in china the KM's have dropped significantly. His advice was to try and source the ones manufactured in the USA rather then China.
