hey guys,
i was just wondering how i fit the roof rails?
i brought them from the wreckers. they only came with 8 nuts. am i missing other parts that they haven't given me?
also there are no mounting points as such under the black strip on the roof.
any help is much appreciated
Dale

The original JLX jimnys have studs coming out of the roof, welded in. Thats why you only have nuts.
They were not in the body/black strip seam either.

Not sure on the exact set up.
But am sure that they mount through the roof.. That i am certain of.
I would say you.may need to nutsert the roof itself (think that's what they are called)
if you don't mind me asking what did you pay for them

I've seen ROLA racks on JX jimnys. Different to the ones for a JLX.

They were also studs so there is no holes in the roof to leak.
I would probably nutsert with a shitload of silastic to bolt on. Seal it right up. Don't want water coming in on a hardtop.

I would try and take them back.
for the hassle and price tag! they aren't worth it.
the factory ones are crappy and plastic anyway and you still need to get cross bars. (I have broken a set already)
get a set like bazzok's. http://www.rhinorack.com.au/BarType_Spo ... 005_3.aspx
they are much stronger. sure you still need to drill holes in the roof... but you cant get away from that...
