On a budget the front bumpstop s from an 80 series landcruiser work well, use em in the pink Patrol and they help out a bit

Thanks Royce, I will have a look at them. I am pretty sure I can find one in the yard here. I need something I can fab up or bolt on quick until I can grab some nice ones. I am wondering are they solid, and do they squish a little before they stop the suspension?

That's a really good price for the type of bumpstop they are.. I like the way they come in slowly instead of a big "thunk" when you bottom out.

I bet they make for a nice an cushy ride instead of the "bang,clank, bang" I get now when i get a little carried away in the rough

they are pretty proggesive, they are a bunch if donuts in a pyramid with skinny bits inbetween them that compress

Damn that is a lot of money, I can;t imagine $500 for one component for one corner of a rig. $250, I'd think about that but $500 for one side ?


Back to the OP,
A lot of guys here run a CJ, or YJ in the rear for a nice soft ride, and RUF, or a softer lift spring up front. The YJ in the rear can be done without the Drop shackles,and spring under it works pretty good. YJ's are a really nice soft ride, and they can be stock take offs to save money. I don't know how common YJ or CJ springs are over there though.

They net about 2" inches maybe 3"of lift. If a guy doesn't want to do a RUF, just a softer 2" lift spring for the front

I guess it kind of depends on the budget you have to work with, and what is most important to the owner, off road capability, ride comfort, or on road manners.

I really dig spring under Samurai's with a 30-31" tire. A lot of bang for the buck, and a lot of fun.

After messing around I finally settled on some adjustable koni's. Deffo not regreting my decision!! Ride is very nice and predictable and the only mod I did to get them to fit was put in a front 10mm bumpstop spacer!!

The koni's are a twin tube, oil filled dampener. Not gas or foam cell. They have rebound adjustability with full progressive compression valving. Seem to work very well!

I've rarely heard a bad thing said about koni shocks. you definately pay for them though.

for those asking about king springs , we sell a COMPLETE SET for $500 , so would be $250 for rears . do a full suspension kit , springs shocks and bushes for $850 , thats king springs , kyb shocks , and a full bush kit.

not coming here to try and drum up business or anything , just thought id let you know that if you are paying 4-500 for a pair of rears is just crazy!
