If you still have the ORIGINAL matching engine, stick it in the shed and rebuild it as time allows..
I reckon stay the 1.3..
Sure its no powerhouse.. but why does it need to be? all you really need is for it to
A: be reliable, probably THE most important thing.
B:go to a minimum of 100kph a maximum to be respective.. 130.
C: have enough power to turn or not turn the wheels what ever the case maybe..
If dollars and connections allow, I say go the reco 1.3... installed with a registered mechanic, be it a friend or a shop, you will recieve a warranty to fall onto should it blow smoke one day soon, or should it have an internal malfunction

leasdt then at minimum the problem SHOULD sourced and fixed.
having that experience of purchasing a tired motor previously, and getting around 15thou k in 8 months I went fully rebuilt next. Money well spent if you ask me.. days turn around on ordering the engine and it arriving, one day turn around as the guy had to come out and helicoil a thread on the tunnel while radiator was sent to be flushed+checked, all new hoses ordered. week or so turnaround in after hours I reckon..
I say keep it the

devil

you know
otherwise, like has been said.. go the pick a part way.
I find most of the engines I looked at(g13a/b) have AROUND 300 thou on the clock,so all either pretty well worn by now, or they were tappy...like... 'tappy..but thats normal...taptaptaptaptap clunk...tap taptaptap...."

..."ahhh.. no.." or if your lucky and its been looked after 200...ish with regular services.. so give or take another 100thou km left in it maybe.. cross both fingers AND toes, and hope the failure fairy hasn't waved its wand on what is chosen..
