hey i was wondering if it is worth upgrading the rear drums to disc was looking at getting the kit off lowrange that still allows you to keep your handbrake cable

I'm guessing the transfer handbrake is off a 1ltr case? If so can it just be bolted onto a standard 1.3 case?

No, the 1.3 n/t, 4 bolt's & the h/brake cable's part of the assembly..

If you are going to fit front's on the rear I would suggest either run the cheapest pad's you can get in the rear & beat in the front, Or do a vit front upgrade..

i got a adjustable proportioning valve thingo, was only $80.

I have one to, yet to fit it as I really don't need it, can be driven with out locking rear's, but will lock just about any time if you want it to. I have vit's on front tho.
The vit upgrade is well worth it, stopping power is awesome, rear disc is just as good, especially coming home from a wheel & still having peddle with out the ole 2pump..

haha all my rear disc conversion stuff is sitting in a box in my shed
i probably wont fit any of it as my sierra is pretty much sold.

You'd be surprised at how much your island parallels where I live. I am about 15 minutes from a native reservation. Our reservation is dry too, although it doesn't do much to stop the drinkers from getting tanked.

They hold & don't need adjusting as often, but still suffer from mud ingestion.. I haven't adjusted sully's in about 6 month's & have wheeled a far bit, still hold's on hill's..I just flush the thing when I get home..

NIK told me about back in the day they use to get dremel, or file and roughen up the drum, then they would stick a bajiliant times better

okay thanks well i will just get the kit from benT and also what is required to do the vitara brake upgrade besides the discs and calibers. also is the speedo cable the same or will i need a new one

Corect, you want the vented's off a wagon 5dr, may want longer hoses to.

Speedo cable's the same.

Corect, you want the vented's off a wagon 5dr, may want longer hoses to.

Speedo cable's the same.

I don't think you need to change the Speedo Cable for a rear disc conversion, but it can't hurt to put in a new one. Perhaps you were thinking of the Handbrake Cable?

Yeah I've got a Willwood aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve. No issues at all with locking the rear wheels with the valve installed.
