Well just had my suspension lift put in, over all not to happy with the shop that did it, took 3 goes to balance the rims and tyres correctly, and now a week after the lift I am still dealling with a wobble at 60kmh...........
And to make it worse I now have a thudding type banging noise that is noticable in reverse, sounds like its a rotating bang, as in slow reverse its consistant. In forward when turning at a slow speed it can be heard and felt.

I have checked the springs and struts were installed properly, so now Im thinking bearings or CV joints though CV joint is more of a click noise???

How hard is it to replace front wheel bearings? IE do you need the special little tool thing on ebay? as a once of would it be cheaper to get a mechanic to fit, or can you get the nut of without the tool?

where is the noise coming from? is it a metallic noise, etc?

nah its not metallic its a thud.. sort of drumming noise coming from the front I am pretty sure passanger side, its a rotating noise, IE car has to be moving, At first I though something underneath was touching a rotating part but nothing is, thats why Im thinking wheel bearings or CV joints? maybe even break disc related.. but am keen to pull out wheel bearings, repairing and rebuilding during my process of elimination fault finding

check your springs arent rubbing the bumpstop, mine makes the same noise and thats what it is

nope bumbstops dont appear to be touching springs.

not touching, rubbing, look for a shiny bit on the bumpstop mount and inside the spring

Sometimes a lift can empasize an already existing problem.
New driveline angles, etc, can put extra pressure on things.
Look at unis, diff output bearings, CV's
and anything else running in a different place or angle.

his cvs should make any noise unless he has his hubs locked in. my clunks every now and then after i put my lift in it is no way near as bad now compared to when i put them in my is the sprrings.

Howdy could it be your hubs not engaging properly ? Had a similar problem on my gu patrol, needed new locking hubs as the auto hubs were not engaging

Its happening in 2wd, so im guessing the CVS arent spinning,
looks like a small shine one the sides of the bumpstop rubbers, and the more i listen to it the more it sounds like hard rubber on metal, but I have had a good look at the clearance, when stopped the bumpstops seem to be clear of the springs..............

how did you fix it royce????

I does appear like a tyre lug is catching on something, under some situations.
Shiny bits are the best sign of it.
Suspension follows funny arcs, so may not be obvious when parked

tell me bout it tried looking under it while my neighbour reversed it, Sound is most noticable in reverse, and guess what...WOULDNT MAKE THE NOISE.. got sick of reversing after 30 minutes, I get back in and it does it straight away (maybe Im a to much of a fat fuckker for the vit lol)

do you have spring spacers?

only way I can see to fix it is bottom arms that have a different angle where the spring sits so its not as curved

mine only ever used to do it when I had a certain person in the passenger seat (heavy guy) then as the suspension settled it would only do it when it rained, now I just ignore it

i got spacers but they are sitting on the kitchen bench, waiting to go it, havent got to it yet, dont think I need them, happy with the height. 15 and 30mm ,,,,,,,,
Maybe its diet time..

Been there, done that.
Being hearing impaired makes noise finding a pain at times.
A loose BL bolt took me a month to find
I go more by feel.
If You can feel it through steering wheel, it should be in front end.
A wheel bearing can do that, even with no obvious signs of movement.
If its worse when you get in, it may be related to suspension.
Hope it turns out to be an easy fix

PS I needed to rebuild my rear bumpstop spacers,
as they caught on the coils at 1st attempt.
I went from 50mm spacer to a 40mm and all was fine

My car has the same issue as Royce but happens when ever I hit a large bump. Mine is propably worse as it is lifted more making the springs bend more how ever I fixed it but wrapping my springs with spiral wrap and then coverin the spiral with tap to keep it in place it's
