just wondering some peoples opinions on the suspension mods i have planned for my sierra once its running.
im doing a 1.6 vitara injected motor with the vitara gearbox minus transfer (thanks fatzook)

extended shackles, commo/hilux shockies, brake lines already has no sway-bar.

want to convert it to spring over diff with ke30 rears and stock ruf with no load springs.

what other things would people recommend for me to do with these mods?

has stock 1.3 transfer and planning on running 30" or 31" muddys.

i'll be first cos i know its comming.

you don't need spring over with 31s, just a simple 2 inch lift rear and normal RUF will be much better of an outcome

And you'll definitely need some sort of gear reduction to run those tyres.

will the stock 1ltr transfer case be a good enough reduction? i had a feeling from what iv been reading on here i will need to do this.

the spring over is more so me just wanting to fab shit. i love welding and that sort of work.

is it a definatly dont do it, or just not worth the work?

fair enough. wouldnt fall over as easy i guess.

would i have enough clearance for flex with the 2" and ruf? or virtual lift, body lift be needed?

there will be enough fabbing involved in getting your RUF done right to keep you busy.

so thats a spring over by the looks... looks kinda cool..
would there be ground clearance issues withthe 2" -ruf?

im not keen on redrilling the rear mount on the ruf, il be making up some chassis extentions i think to bring the shackle angle back to normal.

will i need a tailshaft spacer because of this?

in what world does that look cool? you will notice the dented tail gate from where he backflipped it driving up a hill. 2" lift will be plenty to clear most things, i doubt you will find you need more.

I doubt it. I can't remember the exact gearing of the 1L case, but I think the high range reduction is about the same, or a little less than, 4.16:1 T-case gears.
This will bring high range back to stock with 29's. You'll need more reduction for 31's.

Bah!! Yea it looked kinda cool being towed around all day by a hilux..... That thing is uber tall and narrow. Unless your building a mall cruiser this aint they way if you want any stability. Go have a peak in my build thread, Ive just done a RUF with long springs and im on 30's

its definatly not going to be a mall cruser.. iv got a true mum bus for that (territory) this is being build for some fun.

what transfer have you got with the 30's? im not wanting the biggest tyre award.. i just want something that works with abit of flex.

4.9: 1 gears in the transfer will work well with 31s.

Yea I run 4.9's with my 30's all the info in in my build thread go and have a read. Just keep in mind my car is not built as a 100% super offroader like a few on here. Its setup to try and give a comprimise of both onroad and off as its my only car and I do drive from here to cairns (1700ks away) yearly. It doesn't have hetic flex nor racecar handling but it works well for me.
