Im a Fitter and Machinist by trade and i make a lot of my bits and pieces for my Zook

If you need any Jobs made that you cant get from the shops or u just want the same quality cheaper just let me know..

Prices for work are quite reasonable, material costs and Cheap labour..

Shoot me a pm if anything is needed - All i need is a drawing and the application of the product and i will make it from suitable grades of material for the purpose its ment for..

Once i do a few jobs or any frequent requests ill post photos up of the work i have done for yous so you can see the quality of my work

What sized lathes do you have access to? What's the centrebore and bed length?

Our work one is prob 1.5m bed, 75mm bore through headstock. Huge 4 jaw maximum hold prob 400mm and a medium 300mm sorta size 3jaw. Both just swapable by hand. Heavy bastards! Have a massive faceplate too but never used it.

Centre bore? Never heard that one..

I call the hole up the guts the spindle bore but I have heard it called centre bore, headstock bore etc.

i've got a small lathe at home, 28mm centre bore and 1m between centres. its only small but its at home which makes it awesome. heres some work i have done on it

yes it does, biggest single phase machine i could find, the biggest thing for me was to find a lathe with a brake for when thread cutting up to a shoulder, was rather scary at tafe without a brake. it can handle a 2mm cut (4mm diameter) in up to 4140. pretty happy with it for $2800 new

Thats not bad. What model is it? Taiwanese or chinese? I'm guessing chinese for that money

Foot brake is a must. First time I cut a thread I found out about that the hard way. Broke the toolpost There was a spare quickchange post lying around anyway

yes it Taiwanese believe it or not, its a Puma. in the days before i realised people in business talk about price ex gst, i pushed him down to 2800, unknown to me that was 2800 not inc. so i've shown up to pick it up with a bank cheque written out for 2800. he wasn't happy but he took it haha. ouch you broke a quick change toolpost...them things aren't cheap!!! you don't have another floating around do ya

Not hard, your the one trying to understand. Its not called a centre bore.

By the way, I called it a Bore, and incase you didnt understand, i explained through the headstock.

Telling someone they used to sell lathes, is like telling someone they are a fitter machinist when they are a 2nd yr(Suzzyboy), or like a female in a mechanic shop that answer the phone then has no idea how to answer detailed questions, like some i have called, And many people have lingo's from other people with no idea. So, I have no idea of your background, So i dont know where your coming from.

Centre bore sounds like a lingo for the Bore. Like doova or thingo. Centre bore is more described for tubing or wheels.

It wasn't a quick change post I broke, just a standard one. The quick change was bought for the lathe but never fitted. Until I broke the toolpost

Good work with the discount I hope you had them throw in some tooling, live centre etc before you 'brokered' the deal
