Centre bore sounds like a lingo for the Bore. Like doova or thingo. Centre bore is more described for tubing or wheels.

I have been a trade qualified machinist for nearly 15 years.

I have heard the spindle bore referred to as the "centre bore" by machinists that have been around a lot longer than I have.

Well I am not a machinist, and I never suggested I was. My machining skills are limited at best, but I have done plenty of time in shops where the machinists and welders are inches appart. Any 'lingo' I have picked up is from the machinists I worked with. I did manage to learn some stuff while there, and can operate a lathe to do basic work. I can operate a mill for very basic things such as facing or boring, but thats where my hands on experience ends.

After my move to sales, I had many seasoned machinist refer to the spindle bore as a centre bore. It may not be the correct name for it, but its certainly a common name for it.

Now you understand where I am coming from. Not a place of formal training.

It wasn't a quick change post I broke, just a standard one. The quick change was bought for the lathe but never fitted. Until I broke the toolpost

na i never did came with a dead centre (useless piece of shit) but it came with a steady and travelling steady, 3 jaw self centering, 4 jaw independent, face plate, change gears (steel). but the tooling is rather expensive, lucky i score free wnmg inserts
