I went to put a 5 inch lift on my jimny. Scary too high. But looked awesome. Be prepared with at least 31 inch tires and massive offset or wheel spacers like the ORA Jimny was on by the way. I took the 5 inch lift off if your wondering, too high for me. I think their 3 and 3/4 would be a better lift set, and cut guards to fit bigger tyres. The cops will notice you with a 4.5 inch lift if you drive anywhere near citys or traffic. Sorry I didnt take any pics I put it on in the afternoon and took it off in the same afternoon cause I need the car to drive to work the next day and I only have 235/75 15r. No way I was going to drive down the highway with that size tyre and lift felt like it would blow over...

5" what kit is that?

Custom sort of made. bits of everything from everywhere. The coils are made by dobinsons and the shocks were sourced from rancho. Oh I forgot get a new steering arm made up! Too short you will have to do a dodgy and move the adjust the pitman arm down a bit. Not the best idea. Get a custom one made, or make one. At full flex the steering turned all the way over to one side.

Even with a 80mm lift 2"BL and he still had to chop the guards.

Bump stops are the rubber blocks that stop the axle hitting metal on metal when the suspension compresses. They are attached to the chassis or inside the coil spring.

Moving them down (so further away from the chassis) prevents the axle from moving up as far so there's more room in the guard for the tyre.

cutting the guards might only involve some careful work with a 4" grinder, or may involve welding and fabrication - it depends on how far you need to cut. Obviously the moment you fire up a grinder on your car you've massively reduced it's resale value, so you have to know what your getting yourself in for.

On a jimny, lots of the guard cutting required to fit larger tyres is hidden under the plastic guards. Still, cut the wrong bit or too far and it's easy to make a bit of a mess.

ok I put the 5 inch lift back on the jimny and borrowed a mates huge offset rims and 31s. I'll post some pics tomorrow. It looks awesome with the rims and 31s. Kinda like ORA but not as big tyres. Still not sure I want it. Would anyone be interested in the 5 inch coils and rancho adjustables to suit? or I will probally return them and just get some adjustables for the 3 inch lift.

Did the 31's rub?

What was the gearing like?

Na no rubbing, but I cut the guards. Gearing is all good with the sierra case in. Still crawls so slow.

Oh and the drag link is all good. I had it up in the air still with the shocks still unconnected at the bottom and thats why it was all stuffed up. Should be all good with no mods needed. I was really tired. lol.

The bottom seats for my coils are just "offset coil spacers". there is no difference between them and a plastic one.They are not welded to the arm they seat neatly into the original coil seat ,then the coil sits in to them .They are a much better idea then running a 3in coil as it stops the coil bowing out by giving it a level seat.
As for strong enough they are made from 6mm plate and 6mm pipe so there stronger then any thing else in the car.

Do I post photos on here? Its sort of got to do with ORA kit... Another way of doing it. I took it off again. The coil and shock fouled. hmm not so good can't return the shocks now haha.

I'm using Tough Dog panhard rods. I got some pics, but not at full flex.. It started poring down and I had to take it off cause of the whole scratching the shock thing.. do you wanna see.

only one. but this is with only the TD lift kit and massive offset rims not the lift.

And this is with just the front done I think. Not 100% sure and sorry about the dodgy quality.
