So why were u running around with no front bumper? And how long for. It might only be a piece of thin tin but it covers quite a bit of sharp protruding edges...

Judging by everything you've listed in that post, are you surprised you got a canary??

The Autotechnica seats may or may not work... I know that they bolt up to the stock rails, BUT, they aren't stock seats, so they may whinge about them not being engineered...

If you've got rust in the floor then fix it, it'll only get worse. And they'll notice the big gaping hole when they do the inspection, cos they'll be looking for it.

If you had no bumper at all, then that's kinda a pedestrian safety issue I guess, those outriggers could cause some injury.. Plus where are the park and indicator lights without a bumper? You'll definitely need to grab a stock bumper from somewhere... Someone here may have one if your's is gone...

Jeep style latches may be a no-no, as they aren't original, but I can't be 100%.

Fast indicator ticking is either using LEDs without appropriate flashers, or a globe out.

Other than that, yeah, make sure its clean and tidy, and check your attitude on the day you take it to the pits...

As for your mates car, stock doesn't neccessarily mean roadworthy, what did they get him for?

sounds like wrong place at the wrong time... suck it up.

having been through the whole sticker thing with a modified vehicle a few times, i will suggest bringing it back to completely stock will make the process a lot easier, anything that is not OE (original equipment) they will look at very closely & you will not pass. eg seats, spring lift, shackles, tyre size... anything will give them enough grounds to fail you.

eg. if there are holes in the floorpan/firewall that are open, put a rubber bung in them. make sure you brakes are properly adjusted including the handbrake. frayed seatbelts or belts that don't retract... the list goes on, and on and on.

you mention rust, i hope it doesn't have any structural rust = instant fail

make sure it's 100% road worthy before booking the inspection, as the 2nd time round they'll be looking even closer.

point being it wont pass when it goes over the pits.
Its not 100% legal

police often will pull you up for what ever reason. if they want to do you they will find some thing. thats life.

but if your driving an illegal car you should expect it.

ok, i know paul doesn't do the best when expliaining things, often makes him look the culprit, but the cops were nastier than they needed to be, but there is still fact in the idea that pauls zook was nowhere near road worthy, but to be so nasty to him was uneeded,

as for my zook, i didn't choose to have no cat coverter, and i just booked it in for 4pm today to get one put in, but being yellow stickered for number plates not shiny enough, white lights being blue? and no rubber on the pedals, i knew about the pedal thing, but as for the rest they are just picking holes in an otherwise immaculate zook (well in comparison to pauls, sorry paul lol) i just cleaned it today, and it looks bran new,

so yeah, unroadworthy car deserves a yellow sticker, but they were rude and nasty and didn't do there job very well, i don't usually argue with the law if i break it then i take the shit/do the time or pay the fine or whatever, but they had had a long day and decided to stick it on us

Is this a common thing? The yellow sticker that is. I'm in queensland and haven't had my zook long (the only thing I've done that I need a mod plate for is seats because the old ones were rooted) and everything else was in it when it got the roadworthy to be sold.

Does this mean that if someone chose to they could defect me for something I don't know about (because it was like that when I bought it) and then I'm up for a huge list of repairs?

Yep unfortunately its the buyers responsibility to work out weather the car is legal or not. Roadworthy doesn't necessarily mean its all legal..

Yeh ours is only when you change owners as well.

Isn't it funny that I thought a Road Worthy Certificate would mean that a car was legally road worthy...

Good to know it isn't worth the paper it's written on!
