Hey guys just something ive been trying to search for, rust repair. How easy is it if you know how to weld?

I was wondering how do you know what to bend the sheet metal too? Do you just try and match it or is there a few tips/tricks?

We use metal bog and that a fair bit at work so i have all the access to welders and bog to my hearts content, jsut would like to know if theres any tricks to filling up holes or cutting them out.

Sierra's are nice and square so bending stuff to shape is easy

I had my first real crack at rust repair in the floor in my car. I can weld enough to get myself out of trouble, the trickiest bit was not burning holes in the uber thin sheetmetal that sierra's are made out of. Cutting an extra 15-20mm past where the rust visiibly finished made a hge difference too

Is that also to make sure you get all the rust under the surface too? I was more thinking say bottoms of the doors or the guards.

Is it easiest to bend it in a vice or say with a soft hammer?
