you have all those things you will be right, a set of shims will be a good idea

Haha, don't wanna weld it. And air lockers are a bit out of my price range.

Where would I get some shims from? Are they to correct any excess play?

Don't need anything other than what came in the box. I didn't shim mine or use a dial indicator to set backlash, and mine works perfectly.

All I did was use a punch and mark EVERYTHING as I took the diff apart, then lined up the marks and everything went back together exactly how it came out.

The instructions that were in the kit I got were more generic and weren't really appropriate for the zook diff, as it showed an open carrier, where the zook one is closed.

And get yourself a workshop manual, makes everything heaps easier for the back yarder, Haynes makes a good one

Installed one for a mate same as above post no shims were required any more and the cross pins will not go through., i did however re adjust the backlash as it was a bit loose.
Fairly easy install and better onroad manners than the loackrite it replaced, goes just as good offroad.
just take your time and clean all the bits make sure it's all tight, takes about 4hrs to rip the axles out then the centre , fit locker and put back in.

Yeah, I've never pulled a diff apart before so I'm not really aware on how the backlash should be like. So I bought the dial indicator to make sure it goes in right the first time. I might pull the diff out on Saturday then!(if my locker arrives by then).

If you've never pulled one out before, deffinately get that workshop manual before you start

Yeah, i will. I'm also getting my old man to give me a hand. He's done countless ratio changes and spools back in his old EH Holden hoon days.
