what differences is there between the 2 kits?? eg :complications i would come across??and price??

I understand there is a big difference, the number 1 factor being legalities. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but 3" can't be certified in some states. There is also problems with extending fuel filler, brakes lines and steering. The 2" kit is only $200, the 3" is more than twice the price and pain with fitting.

just lifted mine onto some timber blocks this morning. took a rough guide from the write up in the sierra bible on outerlimits... very handy although i didnt use every step they suggested and instead of using jacks i used a bit of pipe to lever up the body. very quick and no dramas.....
2 inch lift looks pretty good.


i would probably only go 2" as 3 is lifting your centre or gravity a little too high.

try and look at other peoples rigs and see what tyres they run and what lift etc they needed.

3 inch will lift the body up to high and you'll runn into problem with lines, wires and other stuff being to short. 2 inch is plenty

The 3 inch kit is a pain, I've done one 3" kit and the extra work is incredible. Fuel filler extension, cutting the tunnel or bending levers, wiring extensions. The 2 inch kit all that is extra is the steering spacer. I can provide the blocks and bolts for either kits if you're interested.

mine has a snaked racing 75mm lift there wasn't much to it the only tning that didn't come in the kit was the fuel filler neck they are pretty pricey ($520 i think) i'm sure if effects the cog but my zook it more stable on and off road with the body lift and 31s than it was with 225s and no body lift

i didn't realise that you didn't have to cut out the tunnel with the 2in body lift
i didn't have to bend the gear leavers but i do admit that tranfer one is a bit short

Remember 31s are a lot wider and are generally put on with larger offset rims. It could very well be more stable.

i think if anything it has something to do with the weight of the tyres and the fact that the car is now wider
its more stable in high winds now than it used to be

No, that is for the three inch lift. He says the only extra work you need to do for the 2 inch lift is the steering spacer.

I had 4" !!!
but as every 1 has said ,
fuel filler extension ,
steering extension ,
heater hose extension ,
stretch all your wiring ,
re-bracket your brake lines from chassis to body (below master cylinder)
gear & transfer levers , bend & clearance tunnel !!
re-braket handbrake cable
that about all i can think of !!!

next rig ........NO BODYLIFT !!

Hijack Alert!

I finally put my 2 inch BL in on the weekend. Has anyone had problems with the gear boots? My stick isn't fowling the tunnel at all (hope my missus doesnt read this!) but the rubber boot bunches up when in second/fourth and pops it out of gear.

Trim out the steel ring retaining the boot, need to take out an extra 5mm, this will allow the boot more room to flex. Tin snips or grinder with 1mm cutting disc
