I am considering an OME spring lift for my Sierra and I want to know if anyone who has one can tell me the thickness of the leaves (probably 5 or 6mm or both) as ARB can only give me an overall pack height. I am after a nice soft ride. Thanks.

Get the OME kit, they supply shockies as well. Very well mated to the whole thing, no guess work.

I had OME on my Sierra for 12 years, best thing I ever did.
Now got OME on my Vitara, still happy.
can't really vouch for springs now, as they not made in same place.

OME's are 6mm. Ride well but are a bit on the short side.

Are all the leaves in the pack 6mm? Short springs? Are you referring to the lift or the length of the main leaf?

I know the main is for sure, because i copied the thickness and im very sure the rest of the pack it too. Besides the load bearer. Stock spring packs are also made of 6mm leaves

I dunno about short, I recon as they are longer than OEM, as the shackles are now near flat with the chassis, I recon as ride could be improved a bit by getting an inch longer shackles.

The ride is so far superiour to that of OEM that im not bothered, and as suziblu is becomig a donor, I recon as the rears off her will go to the front of my maruti.

Sounds like you have a one off set then or another OME spring type. All teh OME dakars ive seen (med and heavy duty) are only like ~10mm longer in the mains than a stock rear spring

Yea dunno. I know when I rang and spoke to them, they asked a ton of questions.

They wanted to know what my driving style was, where I wheeled, my weight, would I have passengers as norm, often, now and then, what would normally be in the back, al sorts so as to get the right springs for me, and I am ever so happy with what they sent.

Im around 130kg, and 3 years of fairly constant driving, no suzi lean, says a lot.

From what i have read probably need 2" susp and body lift also.

Well you will need:

Springs
Spring bushes
New u-bolts are reccomended
Longer shocks to maximise the extra travel

For 31's a spring lift alone will not clear them properly. Simplest way is to also add a 2 inch body lift + flatten all the wheel arch seems and possibly extend the bumpstops.

IMO for only an extra overall diff clearance gain of 1 inch and the amount of work involved to clear them you may be just better off with 235/75 tires (29"). They will fit with seem flattening and just triming the front bumper mount.

Thanks for the info JrZook. Yeah i think that might be the cheapest option in the mean time till i flog off the commodore!

I cant seem to find any info on flattening out the seems, do you have a link to anything at all?

To me they sound like customs from OME. From your description they seem to be wayyy longer than what the rest of us got off the self
