The ruling apparantly is if it's an impact sensor so can not fit a body lift but if it's a G force sensor you can. I'm not sure which the Jimny has.

there was a jimny for sale on carsales ages ago that had 33''s, no bl, minimum work, just cut the fark out the guards, ive always had this idea of throwing hilux axles under a jimny with some coil overs, (than i changed my tampon) hahahah just jokes,
but why dont one of you do that, would be a STABLE weapon and wouldnt take piss all to get approval.

the only reason i bring it up is, the taller you go the worse it is, the jimny is a light narrow swb and wont handle well when lifted 50'' so you can fit on some 31s. i flipped a 75 series at moderate speed cause it had a high centre of gravity, lucky i didnt kill my mate or me.
its no good having a 4wd that rolls in the off camber maccas parking lot.
hilux diffs, cut the guards and coil overs or 40mm lifted stock and you would be laughing, and if u used stock 40mm stuff, it would be pretty cheap.

lux diffs would make it even more illegal,
if your going to go to that point,
u would just buy a sierra and build it to run 40s

takes piss all to get approved for lux diffs, engineers like it instead of 1110'' skyscraper narrow 4wd. and it will be 40mm above standard height (not including the tyres you choose to run) and wider. get some flares, enjoy side angles with the rubber side down.
