or build it stong enough to hit some thing with,
if its gonna bend the bar then your car is gonna be pretty damaged any way,

Yeh i do like that .. However I think its more of a gimick.. how many people with steel bars have replaced then multiple times becaus ethey hit just one end of it?

I talked to Geoff at Opposite Lock and he said that in the case you did bend one of the Steel V pieced steel bar ends. the fact that there are 10 or so high tensile bolts holding it together, the chances of not doing damage to the middle or chasis mount assembly is probably unlikely.

But dont get me wrong, I'm in no way 'slagging' off the xrox bar, I like the theory of being able to change the ends rather then a whole bar and the approach is very well thought out as well as the many many mounting point for accessories(theres heaps). They just arnt MY cup of tea..

Ron :)

I post it before and shame that I trow away that issue of 4WD action bull bar comparo.... but they test different brands including the xrox in crash testing a "roo" to it at wht it would be a "decent" speed to cruise, and the xrox held pretty good... one of the best, no too much damage either to the bar and to the car in the wing section of the bar (all testing were in that part), and the fact that it was bolt together didnt affect the performance at all

Also another good thing with the bolt on wings you can take them of when wheeling if your tyres scrub at full flex.

I do remember seeing that :) I'm just going off what Goeff said. I was interested in one for my zook(but he said they wouldnt be making one for sierras) He was telling me that theres a chance you couldnt just replace an end, , and the fact he worked for OL and kind of made me think he knew what he was talking about..(sillly thought now I think of it  )

if they rub on the bar that would be the least of your worries,
they sit up pretty tight and dont hang back much
well it actually changes between each 1 thats made,
but normally there pretty high up

I read that in OL's last product catalog that people take them off when wheeling. And the bar should not changes very much at all with each one that is made, if it is all jig work.

Yeh I've seen people take them off, but have you seen the amount of bolts on them lol..

If your rubbing on and Xrox front bar wouldnt your tyres most likely be rubbing on or stuck against the rear of the arch?

Never the less, I would be keen to see what they look like and whether or not a Sierra one is Available.. (doubt it tho)

I wouldn't bother taking them off for wheeling and the only advantage i see i maybe a better approach angle when wheeling but they already have a good a approach angle.

whats the point of having frontal protection then? might as well just bolt some c channel to the front! the jimny is a great looking vehicle, and placing the xrox bar on it is going to make it look like a turd. i have seen some tube bars that have been executed well, this aint one of them. first thing they should do is slope that top hoop rearwards.

how you do know that the jimny xrox bar hasn't been well executed,as it has not been released yet?And I personal would never bother taking the wings for wheeling. Also "the jimny is a great looking vehicle, and placing the xrox bar on it is going to make it look like a turd". how do you know that it will? ot moght not, it may make the jimny look very different in a good way and As i already said it hasn't been released yet only time will tell.

Its his opinion Monkey. Don't take offense. You have no need to defend X-rox either. Their work SHOULD speak for itself.

Having said that, I personally think tube bars look too agressive and make most 4bys look 'Un-tidy', which draws the attention of the rozzers more often than not.

IMO

Ok got another e-mail from them today, expected recommended retail price will be from $995 to $1040 so almost the same price bracket as the ARB bar.

Can't speak for this bar, but when you hit a 105 series hard in the arse offroad the ARB bar holds the car together pretty well.

Shame Suzuki have that deal with every new Jimny - everyone has one mow :(
