How/where do you mount front bash plate to cover steering arm. Pics would be great thanks

Have you been hitting it on stuff? Normally the tie rod cops it well before the steering arm itself.

If you have access to a welder and some fabrication nous, it wouldn't be hard to make one, but I'm surprised it's a problem.

Yeah thats why I thought I'd ask. Not a common mod for sierras at all, as the only non moving part in the front that you could mount to would be the chassis. To get anywhere near protecting the arms you'd need a big bar welded to the diff housing coming out from under the tie rod.

Its not really a problem, more a precaution than anything, and makes the frontend a bit neat and 'hardcore' looking.

Hmmm.

I wouldn't bother. There's nothing under there to protect, except the tie rod, and that's hanging down lower than any skidplate would want to sit. Personally, I don't think applying non functional checkerplate to the car makes it look more hardcore.

If you take all the clearances into account, there's not much room under there without starting to eat into ground clearance.

Also take into account you can mess with the engine's cooling by putting a skid plate under there.

Just some thoughts.

All good points. I wouldn't be too concerned about the engine cooling though, as the factory splash tray blocked most of the upward draft from the day they rolled off the showroom floor.

Interesting about the cooling - the factory splash guard ought to be removed I guess, as there could be some funny low pressure areas set up at speed with a plate that ran from rail to rail and sat some way below the pan- It wouldn't surprise me if the car ran hotter.

Airflow at speed can be pretty fickle.

What is this "S P E E D" you speak of Steve? I've not found this in my sierras

You will find it with a J20.
I found it *ahem cops* found it twice with a g16b

My 1st sierra i didnt realise there was ment to be a guard under the radiator..

on my bull bar i have a bit of a bash plate witch is just the bull bar with with bit of extra plate extended down from the bar
