Removing Factory Flares WT

As the title says, I'm going to be removing my factory flares. I have taken the actual flare of which simply clips off, however the mounting brackets seem to be glued on? Is this right? How do I get the mounting bracket off?

they are spot welded on, just feel for a dimple then grind or drill the holes out....

Spend $20 on a spot weld drill bit from a panel repair supply shop (or you can borrow the one I've got).

Using a grinder or regular drill bit just creates lots of holes to fill.

What flares are going on? I just put some clark rubber flares on my WT.

Has anyone used those tj smitty bilt 6" Flares. I think they look awesome.

Speaking of flares, I know most people use the bunnings garden edging as flare extensions, Just wondering if anyone has gone as far as using some rubber (conveyor belt rubber or ute lining type rubber) or is it not worth the trouble? I've only seen one zook with them on irl and up close (anto86's new one which used to be fmoss') and the bunnings stuff looks alright, just thinking rubber might flex a bit better and not break off?

The standard flares and Bunings flares will be replaced by the 6" Smittybilt Flares. Steve 125 where in Melb are you from? I really am a bit stumped on how to get these things off.
