After busting up the GV a few weeks ago, I finally got some time to pull it apart.
This is what I found:

Axle 2
Axle 3

Still trying to work out this photobucket thing, so bear with me.

So then I pulled this out and the next few words weren't to pleasant, so I wont post them:

Diff 1
Diff 2
Diff 3
Diff 4

So can anyone tell me the best place in Brisbane to get this fixed?
I also need somewhere good to have the brake drums machined.
Any other advice??? I'm all ears!

Any diff shop will be able to fix it for you, it isn't an overly hard job and any mechanic worth his weight will be able to fix it. Try repco for the drums also, they will machine a flywheel for free if you buy a clutch kit from there so they should be able to do drums aswell.

Is that a bit missing from the pinion gear. If so id say your up for a new set. Might be easier and cheaper to get a complete ctr.

Thanks Guy's. I just want somewhere that will do the job right after my last experience.

And yes, that is a piece missing off the pinion, I found the piece in the bottom of the drip tray when I dumped the diff oil...that's when the swearing began,
So, Yes...Now looking for a complete diff 5.12 rear.

I have replacement axles, and while I'm at it, I'm going to do wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, brake pads & machine the drums (left & right).

Got my bearings today, now, do I need to pack them with grease or just a light smear?
If I need to pack them, is Motorex regular waterproof grease ok to use or do I need to use a particular grease?
