Anything similar happened to any other Vit owners? Sometimes when I goto put the key in the column and goto turn her over, te column locks up and takes a few good hits to get it to unlock? :S
What could it be?

Little bit, nothing severe. I've checked the engine immobiliser switch in the dash and makes no difference? Is it possible just to buy a new column and key and install it?

Stekky - yeah mate tried it and failed. Going to try and pick one up off Mugwai. Otherwise there's one at a local wreckers for $88.
Christover - I put some Singer oil in it, hasn't made a diference. :/

Regarding lube sprays, a locksmith recommended Inox to me a while back, apparently doesn't grab the dust like some of the sprays...

Thats good news,
now I can stop thinking how to wrap and post my spare one.
I get to keep it.
Mines from a later model Vit, with an adjustable column..
Probably go into mine one day.

Rats, didn't know you had a spare. haha
Wouldn't have minded the adjustable option.. Ah well.
You wouldn't happen to have a complete replacement sleeve and bush kit for a 3" Cal lift kit laying around would you?... :L
