Yeah I'm with you, my heart started pounding, my mind flicked through how much cash I could muster at short notice, then I opened it, damn its an LJ50 not a LJ51. Pretty good LJ50 though, and not too expensive if it is as good as the pic

There was probably going to be a simultaneous run on the banks across Australia, then a collective sigh of disappointment.

I'm closest and the land rover can do 100km/h with the car trailer on the back!
I was about to explode with excitement too!
I always thought the LJ50 ute was called the LJ50-III though? I never seen a LJ50 ute, even after hours of googling, did they actually make them?
I'm putting an LJ50 engine in my LJ81, does that make me awesome?

yes they made an lj-51, rare as, well something extremely rare.
the lj-50 III was a short wheel base, basically an lj80 stockman with an lj50 motor. they didnt sell here as far as i know

No. LJ50-III is essentially a Stockman with a 50 motor and gearing.
-LJ50 type 1: is the common model in Australia. Narrow track, narrow guards, non-hooded curved bonnet, square inner front guards etc etc
-LJ50 type 2: Have seen 1 in Australia. Its an LJ80 type 1 with LJ50 engine and running gear. So widetrack (though still 22 spline rear end), wide guards, battery swapped sides, hooded bonnet with bigger radiator, bigger fuel tank etc etc etc.
- LJ50 type 3: Same as LJ80 type 2. So bigger axles, bigger brakes, bigger tailshaft unis, lower and wider front headlights in a stockman grill.
Now a LWB type 1 was not physically possible as far as I can see, due to the narrow track. A type 2 or type 3 LWB LJ50 exist. These are called LJ51. I don't know how many of each type exist in Australia, but I imagine lowish numbers. Type 2 and 3 LJ50's are far more common overseas, allot of the guys in Europe and the middle east seem to have these models (going on numerous internet sites).
