A few days ago i was driving my g13bb engined jimny over mt glorious, when the engine rapidly overheated. So i pulled over and turned the motor off noticed the coolant was nearly empty (i topped it up only a few weeks ago). Started up fine when it cooled down a bit, limped home and then flushed the radiator, and replaced the coolant (no sign of oil or anything unusual in the coolant). car has not played up since and have tried pushing it pretty hard. Any idea what went wrong the first time and how i could prevent/fix this?
Thanks

so there was no biuld up of crap in the radiator? did you get it cleaned by a shop or yourself?
if it happens again, i'd get a pro to check the rad out.
also look at your thermostat

whent the cars running and you have the cap off, does it bubble
could be a broken head gasket or water pump
have you checked if theres no water in ur oil

no engine should 'use' any coolant, I would be checking it daily until you figure out where its going

What year is your jim? The g13bb are prone to cracking heads.

That's what I was thinking. Did it overheat and spew out the overflow?
