x2 nothing really does feel a little less ashmatic up top when on the highway though.

it did gain a nice intake and a suction wurrr at idle..

A snorkel is cheap insurance if you are going to be playing in water. If you don't intend on getting anywhere near it then put the money toward other mods/accessories

only get a snorkle if you're doing mud and water higher than your tyres. IMO snorkles are ugly too... lol

If you are just starting to do mods on your new Vit, i would say, look at tyres and suspension first... leave the snorkel for much later...

While the snorkel doesnt really give any performance gains... it can help the engine to run cooler, getting cooler air from up high, instead of from under the bonnet or wheel guard... and cooler air can hold more oxygen than hotter air... plus you dont pick up as much dust and crap in the filter, having it up higher...

While i wont be doing any water crossing sover 6inches, a snorkel does have advantages, which is why i want to get one in the future...

i get WAY more crud through my snorkle and into my air filter since fitting the snorkle... previously the air intake was up near the firewall protected by the battery etc, and hardly any red dust made it to my air filter - however since fitting the snorkle it take all the dust from the air and just sucks it on in.

i turned my snorkle head backwards and its helped, but certainly not as good as before the snorkle.

The only way to avoid this would be to run a pre-filter.

Yeah MacBear, I'll get some photos up when I've done a bit, it is bog stock at the moment. I haven't quite told the full story - the first modification it needs is licence plates, but I'm not far off hitting the pits!

When I eventually put a snorkel on I'll be putting one of those little tea cosy hat types on the top of it! From what I've read/heard they keep the dust out of your main air filter, and I don't mind the look of them.
