Im chasing a chainsaw new or 2nd hand, preferably stihl or husqvarna.

Im chasing around the 30+cc mark with around 14-16inch bar so only smaller models. And also in the brisbane area.

Will pay around $250 to $350

If you get a Stihl saw get something that has a '6' in it eg. 260 or 660 etc. They have more sting in the tail, the 200T climbing saws also have that bit more grunt. :D

I'm a tree lopper. Should be able to pick something up that's relatively cheap and decent 2nd hand.

Good luck.

I'm looking at the 180 miniboss. I'm a chippy by trade and I don't think I'd need a pro arborist saw, just something little to throwaround when I go 4wding to cut fallen trees off the tracks. As last time we went down to old mates farm we had to machette through a gumtree about 300 mm round.

i have a no name jobbie that i bought from mitre 10 for $130 a few years ago.

45cc with a 16"bar and i haven't been able to kill it. because it was cheap i dont care if it cuts dirt, rock or wood i have even not bothered putting oil in the fuel when camping.

i have also accidentally set it on fire when i forgot to take matches
camping so i pulled the spark plug out and covered it with fuel and then pulled the string. haha hay presto we have fire.

if ya dont want to use it every day then there is nothing wrong with no name jobbies.

stihl has their base saw on sale at the moment $299 , I bought one as a spare for the truck.
Imo a ms260 or 260c is what to look for as a larger s/hand saw Ive got 4 of them and I belive they are the best saw ever made.
they are the smallest of stihls pro engine saws and go foever
