im thinking about selling my g16b,
it will be coming out of our jimny, so it would have everything to simply bolt into another jimny, adaptor plates, engine mounts extractors u name it,
now to buy a g16b baleno motor from suzi store they want 1600 dollars,
then for adaptor plates gaskets seals every thing else u can think of cost around 1000, plus we have had to change the cam and the rocker cover make a bracket for the idler pully take the coil off and put the jimny set up on top, so a fair bit of labour involved also, do u think id get 2300 for this motor

So your selling your g16b for another g16b? I don't see the sense in that? Why not go for an m18a like Vermin has just got?
You selling the gearbox and all with the motor? how many kms?

only thing i think you'll find is suzistore's motor is a reconditioned one and would come with a warranty (i believe 1 year).
private sale i wouldnt expect to get much for it - you could however make that if you offered to acutally do the swap for a jimny owner (then you can sell their 1.3 engine for cheap to re-coup labour costs).

well this motor was reconditioned apparently before we bought it,
im not selling for another g16, im selling to get an m18a,
the conversion cost us around 3k and that was to install our self,
its done about 10000km in our car

to me as an outsider to the project though - it doesnt matter - its a second hand engine either way. without a shop giving it a warranty etc you can't charge shop pricing on it.
still, if you put it on gumtree etc you might get lucky.

I really doubt you would get 2.3K for the motor. I'd want a whole front cut for that price.

Fuck no, put the crack pipe down, ive picked up two complete balenos (twin coil pack models), one for $200, the other for $600, an adapter kit is worth a few hundred

If you are expecting shop money, you better be offering shop service... So I'd expect to be paying by credit card for one, a 12 month warranty as well, and I'll expect you to be available 9 to 5 5 days a week so I can pick the motor up at my leisure. Sound fair?

I think the lads here are all steering you in the right direction.
It's a used motor, from a private seller that has been in multiple vehicles.
No warranty, just buying based on the integrity of the seller.
You'll be doing well to get a grand. Despite what the adaptor kit etc cost you, it's only worth what the next person is willing to pay, and it's not a highly desirable item so you'll need to find the right buyer to get anything for it.
