14.7 to 1 is optimum, 13:1 is less air, more fuel, she is rich.

I just hope n pray that I have her all done by the time u mob get there.

She goes very well now, but I want her to go even weller.

lol, want the wt diffs with 5.12s installed, lockers fore and aft, YJ spring setup, or maybe just RUF.

Also, im having overheating probs, runnin in very soft sand is not too much different to running in mud, so I am needing to do a bit of changes up front, there is no external shrouding, work out something there, but also, look into a redblock torana radiator, mate is an ex radiator man, he sold me this little toy, rang him and asked, he sed, look for early (gtr) style 3 core.

Like royce said ~12.5 is where you get max power, I thought you would know that already.

Overheating issues? No external shrouding? Do you still run the factory fan shroud? Stock 1.3 rad seems to do an awesome job if its in new/good condition (with a shroud). If you still have issues with it and your cooling system is A1 then try using a vit viscous fan. They have an extra blade as well as larger diameter and really pull the air through!! Or you running a thermo?

My problem is not internal shrouding, like I said, its external, as it, outside, you know, not within the engine bay.

I have a thermo, yes, but it has a full shroud.

I am talking of external shrouding where outside air is directed onto the radiator, which no sierra that i know of has.

Completely surround the radiator, like all other makers do, and direct the air onto the radiator, thru it, before the fan has anything to do with it.

This was something that Ford done waaay back in the 70s with the GTHO.

Direct air onto the radiator, do not let it escape out the side, where it will follow the path of least resistance.

I fully understand that 14.7:1 is optimum, and that running rich, yes rich, gives better performance, is why I run rich.

Economy wise, closer to optimum is where you need to be, total performance, as in who gives a rats about fuel economy, where I play, 12.5, oh ok if you say so.

I do not have the acsess to a 3 gas analyzer, but recon as im running richer than that.

I go for a fang, refuel, and after about 40k or so, im putting in 20 liters or more to fill up.

Really want a long range tank.

Saying that 14.7:1 is optimum is incorrect. 14.7 is the stochiometric combustion ratio for petrol, but it is not optimum.

Optimum is the ratio which best meets the requirements from the motor, be they economy, power, or a balance of the two.

At 14.7:1, the fuel burns very hot. If you are running 14.7:1 under load then you will most likely enounter pinging and overheating. 14.7 is best used for light load cruising conditions, whereas under load you want a richer mixture.
