Been working on a suspension set up and want to know the effect of load leafs on the pack. My pack has/had 5 leafs (rear), ive removed 2, gives lot better ride and some added flex, but in doing so i lost 8-10mm of spring height. So if i add the load leaf back in, i mite gain 5-6mm back(guess), but what impact will it have on ride/flex?

i left my load leaf in an its still bloody stiff in the arse end i took the one above it out was thinking of taking load leaf out to but i got a trip coming up wich i am going to have the lil zook full to the brim an was scared about it low riding

Which leafs did you actually remove? Pic? The load leaf is the last of the pack and is dead flat or close to it. It only starts to support the vehicle once the suspension is loaded and close to the bumpstop. If you removed a curved leaf (one thats in full contact to the pack all the time) you will have soften the suspension and as a result of teh reduced spring rate, lost a bit of ride height.

Why is loosing ~10mm of spring height such an issue if the suspension is now actually flexing and giving a better ride?

You've lost 10mm height but your springs are traveling further and are still the same length. lol. I dont see what the issue is? Do you really need that lift back?

The rear is sitting lower than the front, and dont really wanna put extended shackles in. Dont wanna touch front spring pack as fair bit of weight up front.
I removed load leaf and one above it.

How much weight and what springs are you running?

almost no weight in rear, recovery kit few tools etc that about it. Running ironman 2in springs
have steel bullbar and winch up front

Well for a starters the load leaf you removed (the flat thick one) will have no impact on changing your ride height.

You have a few options:

1. Put the curved rear leaf back in and loose the flex and comfort
2. Take a front leaf out and drop the front to match the rear
3. Put a 10mm spacer between the front leaf pack and the diff, this will effectively lower the front without lowering the spring rate

Id suggest to try option 2 as it wouldn't take too long to do and is easily reversible. See how it drives and see how much lower it drops the front.
