i want to go to bigger tyres either 235/75/R15 or like 30-31" but i dont want my gearing to be out of wack i was wondering if it would be cheaper to get it from the states like http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/samtcase.htm those ones. Problem is that postage would cost a lot for gears has anyone ever had them imported and if so how much was it? also because im not sure yet which tyres to go for which would be better lower then stock or higher then stock say i get the wrong gears for the tyres doubtfull but hey

I've got 235/75R15 tyres. The gearing was pretty crap with the stock t-case.
Then I bought 4.16:1 gears from Lowrange. The gearing is now really good. Pretty close to stock.

If you are thinking about going to 30" or 31", you would want 4.9:1 as they are a little lower again.

yeah i think i will get it all at the same time the gears and tyres. my brother works at a tyre whole saler and they sell gt tyres MT to family members for about $120 a tyre so there will be heaps there for gears

My mate has them on his Rocky. They're pretty good, he paid about $150 a tyre.

Sean at lowrange sure fucked you in the ass. I have two deliverys from lowrangeoffroad.com. Both cost $50 for postage and arrived in under a week. One had a set of gears and a lokka, the second had another lokka, transfer rebuild and gear shift sheet.


Zook_Fan I would highly recomend lowrangepffraod.com Do all your working out shit with them via email and then ring to confirm with your CC number. But if you want to look in Oz go to lockedup4x4, there has been good stories coming from these guys.

Appsie and I got some Trail tough 6.5 tcase gears a couple months ago from the states to my door for $560 a set including postage, lifetime warranty, cant loss. i think postage was $50

speedo stays the same...I did all new bearings/gaskets as well

so the speedo is still out like km/h wise or it goes back to normal

If u have larger tyres, it will stay the same as it is now. Not back to stock.

Diff ratios will change the speedo because everything will be spinning faster/slower depending if u get more ratio etc.

Back then Sean was using a slightly different way of shipping but I kept asking for the cheaper form of postage and he came up with a USPS flat rate box for $50 with a tracking number which is what he will try and use if you ask and the goods fit in, which the gears do.

just make sure you order loooong before you want to put them in, oh and dont asking sean to many questions, he's not real good at answering them.
He 'lost' my order which should have been getting sent this week and now I have to wait until the end of august until he has more stock.
lucky he's a couple of hundred cheaper than everyone else,

Agreed my 4.9s were to me in under a week. I found Sean to be fantastic with communications and everything. I did pay $120 for shipping like bluesuzi which I still think is fair even if others got it for $50. Getting gear shipped within Aus often costs me more than that.

I was quoted $125 for 2 sets of gears to be sent
Iwas actually charged $60
the cost on the postal slip was $35

that was buying from lowrange shipped through USPS

they are the same gears that lowrange sell. same prices too.
