never been keen on those sorts of kits. when i do something like that i usually get my alloy dude to weld some new tags on the g/box so i know it 100%. BUT, i never recomend a sierra 5 speed behind a 1.6, mainly because it will chop out quickly. the solution is a vit 5 speed, much better and the only week link is the clutch.

with the sierra 5sp i've had no problems afte 6mths of thrashing the snot outof it....With a locker and 33's. No weird noises, no extra backlash. everything A ok.

I think you would be better off just buying the adaptor kit. Cheaper, Light, easy to work around. And if your scared, just take it easy.

not saying don't buy it but wheigh up your options before doing a conversion of that kind. whenever i do a 1.6 conversion i will never warrant a sierra 5 speed behind it. shagged sierra 5 speeds i'v pulled out of cars-lost count. shagged vit 5 speed- none so far. with the vit 5 speed you get to use the vit flywheel which will give you a little more torque, but best of all you can choose from some nice vit clutches that are out there too. just consider all your options, if your going that far you might want to consider a few more bucks and chuck in better box. and sorry for going off topic a bit.....

nah its all good im glad u did go off topic its been very helpful, looks like i got some decisions to make, i myt go with the adaptor plate as its the cheaper option now, i spose if i chomp thru it, theres always the option to go for a vit box down the track anyways i guess right?

On a side note, I hope you realise you will need transfer gears for those tyres, Not just a motor for the stuff u may be doing...Ask norm..

all blue is saying mate is that you need to plan ahead... might be an idea to start looking at getting some gears, other wise you may burn out your clutch and have to drop the whole box to do it all again...
