Assuming you mean g13bb? The injected version out of a jimny?

Your old man should be able to help you wire it up so really it should be a no brainer, afaik the engine is literally bolt in it's just the wiring that is the "hard" part.

If you mean the g16b (1.6 injected) then it's more work.

Why do you want more power yet anyway? did you blow up your engine?

Dont worry, I used to always call the G13ba an G13b, Jonno had to whinge at me about it for quite some time before I changed :)

I'm interested in this also. Wiring I'm comfortable with. Fabrication I'm a bit messy haha.

AFAIK all of the G13 variants have the same block. So they should al just bolt straight into a sierra on standard sierra mounts. 8)

I was thinking about doing a g13bb, until more than one person told me they like to crack heads :(

If someone could confirm this to be untrue or at least explain why they do it so it could be avoided, it would put this conversion back on the table as efi would be boss!

I sold a G13BB to Saam a few years back. He droped it into his coily and its still kicking along nicely.

Whats stopping you? Do you have the budget for the conversion? Have you considered the alternatives?

Do you keep your balls in your missus handbag?

Don't NEED to do it yet, budget is too thin at the moment and I don't know what a G13BB is worth yet, It's gonna cost about 2/3 as much to rebuild the engine and carby (working on $1500 for a G13BB with loom and ecu) so it looks like a good option, but then it's an untested motor again...

Alternatives being 1.6 which costs more and is more work?

Also, balls aren't in the handbag, but if I want to keep and not have them cut off I am not going to spend heaps on the zook when I'm already spending 10k on my half of a new engine for the ski boat...

confirmation from dad is that wiring looms for him are a piece of piss. so could be looking at doing a conversion somewhere down the track =P
do you have to do the 90 degree dizzy relocation with the bb??

Nope! The BB runs twin coils and a cam sensor, so no dizzy to worry about

Coz dad is spending the other 10k on his half :p

going for either a 150 or 175 optimax to put on our 19ft millennium hull (which used to have an 80-90 model bitsa 225 johnson)

Dad was told by the bloke at the shop that we don't NEED the 175 unless we plan on pulling 4 skiers at a time...

Not sure what the price difference is but they are the same engine with different injectors and ecu e.t.c. so will decide based on price.

Meanwhile back in zook territory, what's a g13bb worth? as it sounds by far to be the easiest efi conversion (bar throttle body...)

better off with a low k g13bb as its very hard to find a decent g13b without lots of k's saams g13bb went well but spend a bit more not much more i might add and do the 1.6 g13bb doesnt make a huge difference over the 1.3 carby i mean its noticeable but nothing compared to a good 1.6

How much are we talking?

G13bb only need engine and loom + ecu right?

G16b? (injected one) need engine, adapter plate, loom + ecu, exhaust manifold/extractors + Mod plate yeh?

I did a bunch of research a while back for 4age conversion, then decided the work + cost would be more than I had in a budget.

Correct me if I'm wrong but since your also modding the fuel system (carby to EFI) don't you need a mod plate for the overall engine conversion still in QLD?

If this is the case then the only major difference between 1600 and 1300 injected swaps in the adapter plate.

What about the exhaust, I didn't think the 1300 extractors would fit the 1600?

G13BB head is the same as teh 1600 16V head. The g13a/ba's wont fit either.

Ah bugger, I was thinking it would be piss easy to swap over. Oh well, add exhaust to it and the only extra cost becomes the extra for the engine and the $200 for the adapter plate.

Now, what's a 1.6 efi worth?
