ive just done a baleno engine swap into a sierra used the bent kit changed the oil pickup and put the sierra sump on and grinded the sierra starter down to fit now it has a horrible nock does anyone know what it could be

Gonna need more info mate.

Was the knock there from the minute you kicked it in the guts the first time? Or did it develop over the coarse of a few minutes? Does it sound like top or bottom end knock?

Drop the oil into a clean container and inspect for contaminents. ( metal particles etc) If its knocking, its probably going to have bearing fragments in the oil.

It ran fine in the baleno is there any chance the bottom end is hitting the oil pickup
