i have searched a few threads about this and have tried everything mentioned so far.

i am rebuilidng my transfer with 6.5s and i have managed to get two of the flanges off (gearbox and front diff) but teh rear flange is giving me hell.

i have being using a 3/4" rattle gun and a peice of angle bolted to the flange, initually they would not budge even with a bit of heat so we tightened them only a touch then loosened and they came off no problems.

the last was tightened a touch like the others but now wont move at all
any sugestions to lossen it? im stumped
and yes now i relise tightening them a little wasnt a very good idea

You definitely un-crimped the flange nuts?

Also, tightening them a little isn't that bad an idea, it got two off didn't it?

I've seen heaps of different ideas on here, rattle gun is usually the best. Have you tried wd40 or similar? or soaking it in something?

yep knocked the tabs out
i have being soaking it in silicon spray to but no luck
i considering using a cold chisel to try and crack it but im worried il damage teh nut beyond removing.

I've also heard the cold chisel crack will work. You can buy new nuts if you wreck that one.

Jam the flange and then use a super long breaker bar! Some of the ones ive tried to get off were insanely tight!! Even the biggest strap on rattle gun wouldnt budge them!

if the silicone spray doesnt weem to work, try a product called yeild. its in a gold can, smells like shit. but it is a godsend!
we use it at the steel works in maintenance. you can be sitting there with 1' drive rattle guns and wont budge.. soak it in yeild and will come off no worries.

dissolves rust and lubes everything it touches. ;D

fair expensive though.
