My car keeps dying at idle..

does anyone know why?

What sort of car?
What engine? Carby/EFI?
Does it do it cold/hot or anytime?

Oh sorry

It's a suzuki sierra, petrol engine, 1.3 I think. It's def not efi so I guess carby(??).

It does it randomly hot and cold

Start by checking for cracked or broken vacuum hoses.

Sometimes it doesn't do it for at least 10kms other times it does it straight away

i had this same problem fixed it buy replacing my carby (base to inlet) gaskets

so it could be a few things then
- vacuum hose leak or another leak on the inlet of some sort
- block idle jet
- or mabey idle mixture needs adjusting??

i guess all easy things to check, and go over ya self :D

Injector cleaner is not going to do a thing.

I suggest finding from here, a good suzi mechanic and getting to have a look.

fuel filter is worth a look if you haven't changed it for a while
