just speak to these guys, they seem to do alright in there off road racing,
have a pretty simple suspension setup,
there cars are a low budget,
(well for those guys any way)

i might be just shooting my internet mouth off a bit here, but what about doing the ifs idea.... if you got the front part off of a vit chassis and glued in to yours (not sure if anything lines up so don't quote me) and then sort out some long travel IRS for the rear, or a triangulated 4link rear end. Im sure it's not as simple as i've said it, and will take allot fab work no matter how you decide to tackle this job.......

Buy something built. Especially if your unsure about what your doing.

You will get something already log booked and approved for racing. You will spend less initially. Race that for a season. If your serious, season2 start building to your hearts content. while still racing your first truck.

You will get out there straight away. You will see if you have the funds to continue racing. you will learn what works, what doesnt and you will be network with other racers to possibly get some advice/help along the way.

Unless you destroy the original truck you should be able to sell it for close to the purchase price.

I Like shakes idea. i know alot of people who have been keen as to build race vehicles, and because they didn't have the experience or the knowledge to do it properly the idea died pretty quick and wasted alot of time and money...
