Hey guys help me choose which bar will be a better choice for my sj50
I'm toying with the idea to make a new front bar to save some weight or just keep the arb bar.
I will need the bar to fit a winch

sell the ARB bar and that will fund the materials for the new one. then you will end up with something original, that no one else has. and you can make it to exactly how you want it. that's if you have the skills and patience that it takes to make such a thing.

Will have to get a professional to fix it up

what's your end goal? How extreme?
front mounted winch will wreck your approach angle depending on how extreme you want to go.

Not very extreme Steve
Doing up the car ATM moment for a dd
Some touring and a bit of weekend play
Winch is just there for me to pull my group out as I'm the only one who's going to have a winch
but mostly just there incase some thing happens

i'd just keep the ARB bar and put the money the custom bar was going to cost you into fuel for driving it =)

Why I'm at it does any one know how much it would be to powder coat the bar
I'm guessing a few hundred?

i'd guess around $200 to sandblast prime and powder it depending on how much sandblasting it needs.
I say that as i had 4 rims blasted, primed and powdered for $30ea recently.

i would leave the arb bar on. less likely to attract attention as a
daily driver.

i would sell the ARB bar as they are made of cheese, and build one that can actually take a hit.
