ok went for a wheel this morinng and suddenly my clutch felt too loose than normal found out it snapped does anybody have any tips on how to replace and how long does it take as i might organise another wheel this arvo cheers AZ'S

It's a 10 minute job. Just have a look after you clean all the mud off it

You can drive it without a clutch if you need to -

Put it in second gear and then start the car.

Yep, that's what I did once, but fuck it was a slow and painful drive home at 3am, got home at 7am.

eh? you stayed in 2nd the whole way???

you can drve clutchless by matching the revs and shifting up, its not great on the gearbox but if it saves a few hours and you can cruise in 4th it;d be worth it =)

i learnt to do it yearrrrrs ago and then it came in handy when i burnt the clutch out on the beach - using the last slither of clutch and gearing it without touching the pedal i reckon is what stopped my zuk becomming a submarine... hehe

Yeah, 2nd is just to get started, then rev and match/mash gears the rest of the way.

yer i drove it home matching revs with gears i got it home with new clutch in but how does the clutch lever sit on the spline as it came loos but can it just sit any where on the spline and should the cable adjustment have a bit of slack or should it be tight cheeers luke

There should be about 10-15mm of free travel at the clutch fork

ok well i got the clutch going and was nice and smooth all the way until i reached bush and it decided to do the same thing and not go into gear even with the new clutch cable so i adjusted it but could find a spot were it would pickup the clutch any ideas??

i went through 3 cables in a weekend so i put the stock clutch back in.

mine was a RPM piece of shit, apparently the execdy jobbies are ok. dunno about other brands.

yep, I didn't want to mash the gears especially when it cost me just over $1000 to rebuild it 2 weeks earlier.

But yeah, street racing is bad, mkay.

Had a mate of mine break a clutch cable while he was coming home from work, was using the revs to change the gears without using the clutch

Halfway home he was pulled over by the police for a random breath test then he asked the police to push him so he could get going again, they were happy to oblige.
