Hi Suzuki owners

Not long ago I picked up a 2000 G.V V6 & I don't know too much about these vehicles yet.

Can anyone confirm the following for me?
1] If I change to a new AT tyre from 235/60/16 to 225/70/16 [or simaler size, as there don't seem to be many AT's to choose from in 235 size range?] - will that give me an extra inch clearance under the diffs?
2] How much would my speedo be out with that new size tyre?
3] Any tips for a good brand 30/40/50mm suspension kit?

Sorry if these questions have been done before - but I'm new to Suzuki's & want to learn as I will be going on bush tracks soon.

[I'm on the work computer - not much time for searching info]

Thanks.
Paul

Tyre size would be an almost unnoticeable difference. Suspension wise, I think dobinsons and lovells have been the pick.

ok ... first things first..

we lcome to AZ ... and congratulatioms nn your choice of vehicle

1) it will give you about 12mm more clearance... so no it womt give you an inch.
2) not by much.. maybe 3 or 4kph
3) cant help hear as I never owned a GV

Welcome!

I have a 2002 4 cyl GV and have 225/75R16 tyres. They give me an extra 1". My speedo was out 8% until I changed diff ratios.

I also have an OME (ie ARB) suspension lift. OME seem to be the best kit for the GV... a search on here will tell you too. The lift is about 35mm. A little more would be nice but ARB tend to be a little conservative otherwise you risk your CVs. The other branded kits tend to be too harsh for Suzuki's as they are primarily deigned for Patrol/Landcruisers.

With the bigger tyres and suspension lift there is no scrubbing.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome guys & this is a great help to get me going when setting up my G.V soon.

TheOtherLeft or anyone -
- What would be the rough cost of changing diff ratios?
- I see some tyres at 225/70/16 - would that still give me a slight lift & no scrubbing over 225/75/16 ?

Thanks, Paul

A 225/70R16 is about 28.4" diameter. Std tyre is 27" so you will get 0.7" lift. Not a lot but every little bit helps.

I have heard of people using 225/75R16 tyres with no scrubbing. My factory suspension was downright dangerous around corrugated corners so was glad I changed to aftermarket.

My diff ratio change cost a few $k, but I did change the guts of my rear diff whilst I was at it. I now have pretty blue and black switches in my cabin to compliment it.
