Yes my post wasn't the info the op wants
I'm just saying it's way cheaper to do it yourself and learn about the car
I did my hole engine rebuild
I saved alot of money doing this

Geting a mechanic will cost you hundreds
But if a mechanic is your only choice then go for it

Yes Royce new over sized guides, valves and seals cos it was all warn

Its hard to keep track haha
I need to find my dockets

Where the guides have went into the head was warn away abit
Instead of me geting oversize valve stems they either put a bigger guide or sleave in there

I also got the block and head shaved
For head recon and got the block bored out to 40 thou And sandblasted
About $530 all up

I did the rest
End cost about 1200 including parts
This was a g16a engine

The labour was in sections like every part he did was a separate labour rate
Wasn't all in one hit
He looked after me a bit but was no were near mates rate

sorry to hijack your thread mate
All I got to say if you think you can do the seals yourself then go for it
It's worth it
Only con about doing it is if u stuff it up you can't clam it on the mechanic

Just my 2c

Yeah, that's why I dont want to do it. When I get a g13b I'll have it on a stand and build it up as money will allow, and if something is going wrong I can sort it out. Whereas I need this car to drive and can only afford to take it off the road for a weekend.
